Nigel De-Jesus had been out drinking before committing the 'bizarre' crime
A thief smashed his way into a bridal shop and stole two dozen wedding dresses after a New Year’s Eve boozing session. Nigel De-Jesus, 44, said he had no explanation for committing the ‘bizarre’ and ‘pointless’ crime at Deborah Bayan's Design Studio store in Stockport .

After leaving for France following the festive break, he returned to the UK and was arrested.
Ms Lamai said Ms Bayan has suffered ‘reputational damage’ following the break-in, and that it has caused a ‘massive strain’ on her. “I don’t know what on earth you were thinking about when you committed this offence,” Judge Jason MacAdam told De-Jesus. She said he committed the break-in while in ‘something of a drunken stupor’. “He cannot offer up an explanation for his offending,” Ms McGinty said.
