More than 100 households were left without electricity

A third teenager has been arrested in connection with a fire at a former bingo hall in Kettering on Easter Sunday, April 9. when the blaze spread to an adjacent sub-station.

Four crews from Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze at the old Gala Bingo Hall on Kettering High Street at about 6.20pm. Families were told to keep their doors and windows closed as firefighters from Corby and Wellingborough stations tackled the blaze through the evening. Two 13-year-old boys from Kettering were arrested in the town on the night of the fire on suspicion of arson. They were later released on police bail.Northamptonshire Police said this afternoon, Friday, April 14, that an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with the fire on Wednesday, April 12. He was later released on police bail pending further investigations.

More than 100 households and businesses across 13 postcodes were left with no electricity for several hours after the fire spread to the sub-station next to the bingo hall. Power was not restored until the early hours of Monday, April 10. The force spokesperson continued: "Officers investigating this incident are still appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who may have any information which could assist with their enquiries.
