You could own an entire Spanish town for the same price as an average apartment
For the same price as an average Spanish apartment, you could instead buy Salto de Castro - a mountainous, north-west village with stunning views of the Douro river, which sits on the Portuguese border.
It is currently owned by a family who bought it from a Spanish Utility company back in 2000 with the aim of transforming it into a tourist hotspot. But the financial crisis that soon followed would stop this dream from becoming reality. After just one week, 300 people have already expressed interest in purchasing, with enquiries as far from Russia, France and the UK.
