The story behind _Deljens food truck is one of a mother’s deep love for her only child, and their desire to spread that love to others.
Known for its “fluffy” shaved ice topped with some 30 sweet flavors, Deljen’s offers a great way to beat the heat, as well as other treats like hot dogs, nachos and a hot chocolate bar in the winter months.
“And your mom is going to help?” Jennifer asked her daughter, laughing as she looked over her shoulder.Deljen's CEO Della Morgan, with her mom, Jennifer Morgan, serves shaved ice from her tropical-themed food truck. But Jennifer couldn’t help thinking Della might be on to something. Her retirement savings were supposed to be for Della, anyway. She prayed about it and heard something about the number three. “I got chills,” she says.
“If your mind is set like there’s going to be a rainy day or struggle, then you’re going to struggle,” she says. “Just believe. Just have faith, trusting the process, trusting God and believing you will be taken care of, and it cannot fail.”For three months, she “began to focus on her vision and helping it come to life,” she says. She found a food truck for sale in Florida. Its hand-painted colors were blue and green, her wedding colors. And it was built in 2007.
Deljen's Shaved Ice is a family business headed by Jennifer and Dan Morgan and their only child, Della.
