The locals are all Newcastle United daft and they know that me and Ellas are from nearer the coast. The cràic was as per normal mostly about our team and I haven’t heard one pessimistic voice this summer. My mate, the Admirable Alec Crighton, has just retired and I was having a couple with him. He was trying to pick my brains on whether or not I’d heard any rumours, or had any information on what Eddie Howe’s plans are for the new season. I told him I hadn’t got a bloody clue.
