A new 60-player karting game is on the way from Sumo Leamington and Secret Mode by the name of Stampede Racing Royale, and players will get their first hands-on very soon.
As the title suggests, Stampede Racing Royale will see more traditional kart racing given the battle royale treatment, as all sixty racers compete simultaneously in both circuit races and arena-style battles. As rounds progress, more players will be knocked out, so it’s up to you to hone your driving skills – and skillful use of power ups – to ensure that you survive to the end and are able to grab the podium finish.
Now the game has reached the public testing phase, so it’ll be opening its doors to anyone who wants to give it a try for free when the playtest begins on July 27. Those interested are invited to head overwhere they can sign up using the Request Access button before that July 27 deadline. The playtest itself will run from five days from July 27 at 10am BST/2am PT/5am ET until July 31, with three round matches in the 60 player lobbies available. There’ll be eight courses to race on and one battle arena to fight in during the test – and there’ll be 55 cosmetic items for you to nab along with some basic player progression.
Of course, even more of this is promised for the full release, but this should give interested parties a taste of what will be on offer when Stampede Racing Royale heads into an early access release later this year. The game is also intending to head to consoles at an unspecified time later.
