Editor and producer Martin Frizell fielded questions about the controversy surrounding ITV's This Morning and a 'toxic' work culture with his own question about aubergines
Martin Frizell's response to questions about a "toxic" work environment on This Morning has been branded "extremely ill-judged" by an ITV boss.
The MP called Martin's remarks to a journalist "outrageously dismissive and flippant on camera about an immensely serious issue". Magnus Brooke told MPs he "wouldn't endorse what he said" and would not use the word "bizarre" to describe the comments, but that it was "extremely ill-judged to say what he did".
In her first on-screen appearance since Phillip's departure, presenter Holly, 42, seemingly addressed viewers directly by looking into the camera. She began: "Firstly, are you OK? I hope so. It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil."In the committee hearing, John Nicolson said: "I spent some time at the weekend talking to whistle-blowers from ITV, including people who work and have worked at This Morning. It seems like a very unhappy place.
Addressing the bullying allegations made by staff, he said: "We take our responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and duty of care very seriously. Bullying is absolutely in breach of our code of conduct, it's very clearly set out."
