The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued a winter storm watch for D-FW from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday. Up to two inches of snow is possible, and icy road conditions are expected.because the weather forecast shows little likelihood for intense amounts of precipitation, it will not create a repeat of the February freeze.

“I only get worried if 75% to 100% of the state is going to be below 32 for a sustained period of time and there’s precipitation,” Lewin said.that while the forecast may change in the days to come, it won’t resemble what happened last year. “I want to help ease anxiety regarding the cold snap coming this week,” Delkus tweeted. “This will NOT be as long-lasting and brutal as last February when DFW spent 139 consecutive hours below freezing. This one will be around 48 hours.”

He also said the freezing temperatures will not impact the entire state, unlike last year’s storm. This week’s storm is expected to impact North and Central Texas.
