Thomas Tuchel set to be appointed Bayern Munich manager ahead of crunch Borussia Dortmund and Man City clashes
Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is poised to replace Julian Nagelsmann as the Bayern Munich manager.Tuchel is set to replace Nagelsmann as Bayern bossThe 35-year-old won the league with the German giants last season and is highly rated within the game.
However, he is set to be dismissed from his role following last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, which has left them a point off leaders Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.Advertisement Bayern face bitter rivals Dortmund on April then Tuchel faces a reunion with Pep Guardiola in the Champions League semi-finals.Tuchel spent over a year-and-a-half at the Blues, winning the Super Cup and Club World Cup as well as the UCL.
However, Tuchel was sacked by Todd Boehly in September following his takeover of the Premier League club.Should Bayern beat Manchester City, they could face Chelsea in the semi-finals – if the Blues get past Real Madrid – meaning Tuchel would come up against his replacement Graham Potter on the touchline just months after his dismissal.
