Dispatch.com readers selected winners for the Columbus area Athlete of the Week for the competition period prior to Oct. 9.
This week's winner is Thomas Worthington football player Colin Scalise.Scalise received 28.9% of the vote and was followed by Westerville South football player Quan Rhodes-McKee, who had 21.9% of the votes. Next was Olentangy Orange soccer player Kaelyn Valleau , Upper Arlington field hockey player Emily Barker , Olentangy Berlin soccer player Fina Davy , and Hartley soccer player Matthew Boyd .
Rhodes-McKee, the runner-up, had 17 tackles, an interception for a touchdown, a strip-fumble for a touchdown, a blocked field goal and three tackles for a loss in a 35-20 win over Canal Winchester. Valleau had a goal in a 5-0 win over Lexington and three goals in a 3-1 win over Hilliard Bradley. She has 12 goals and eight assists to lead the team in scoring.
Barker had a goal and two assists in a win over New Albany and contributed to a 1-0 win over Columbus Academy.
