Research has shown that thousands of people are missing out on saving money as they do not shop around for the best deals.
This is surprising as switching things like energy suppliers and broadband providers is one of the simplest ways to save money on your bills. Usually the deals expire after 12 months and you are then moved a standard price plan. However, if you decide to switch every 12 months, you could end up saving hundreds of euro a year.
As for energy and gas, according to Bonkers.ie, if you use an average amount of energy each year you should save somewhere between €300 and €500 a year if you’re switching from standard rates to the cheapest deal on the market.
