They chanted and waved signs that read “Abortion is Healthcare” and “I am a woman not an incubator!” as they marched east. At the Capitol, Michelle Brown, leader of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women+ Utah, said it was hard but important for her to be at the rally. Brown said she thought about the history of forced sterilization of Indigenous people, and how their bodily autonomy was taken away.Speakers at the rally talked about how marginalized people have faced attacks on their bodies since the creation of the U.S., and how they will face the brunt of the Supreme Court’s abortion ruling.
