December has been bitterly cold for the most part, with temperatures remaining below zero degrees for the majority of the month so far, however, it looks like this could change

Three days of -3 degrees have been forecast for parts of Ireland as Met Eireann pinpointed when these freezing temperatures will come to an end.

Between Monday, 9 December and Sunday, 15 December, high Pressure looks set to be the dominant feature of the weather, bringing mostly settled weather conditions with generally light winds. The national forecaster added: “Mean air temperatures are forecast to be around the climatological mean whilst it looks likely to be wetter than normal.”

Tuesday, 10 December Frost and fog will clear from most areas tomorrow, possibly lingering across northwest areas in near calm conditions. Where fog clears, it will be dry with spells of sunshine. Cold with highest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees generally, colder though where fog persists.
