All payments are due before Christmas and will support low-income families and pensioners
Millions of households could be eligible for a number of payments from the Department for Work and Pensions before Christmas. There are three key support schemes worth more than £1,000 that could be up for grabs.
Warm Home Discount - from October 16 Households can get up to £150 taken off their energy bills from October 16. The money, however, won't be paid directly into the energy account and will instead be issued as credit. Cost of Living payment - October 31 The latest cost of living payment from the DWP and HMRC will see £300 enter eligible bank accounts. In order to be eligible, households must be receiving one of the qualifying means-tested benefits.
Winter Fuel Payment and Pensioner Cost of Living payment - November 1 The Winter Fuel Payment is being given to pensioners to top-up their income over the colder months and help them cover their bills. The cash should be paid into accounts from November.
