Three men have been arrested following the seizure of around €700,000 worth of cannabis products in Roscommon. The large-scale cannabis cultivation operation was discovered by gardaí at Loughglynn, Co Roscommon on Tuesday afternoon, when cannabis plants and cannabis herb was seized at the property. Three men aged in their 30s were arrested at the scene and are currently being detained at Garda stations in the county. The raid was carried out as part of Operation Tara, which is the national anti-drugs strategy launched in July 2021. It aims to disrupt, dismantle and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels. “The search was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation, under Operation Tara, targeting suspected cannabis growhouses,” they added.“Cannabis plants and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €700,000 was seized by investigating Gardaí. All drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland .
