Three people rushed to hospital after being pulled from house fire

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire engines from Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Ramsbottom to Grane Road at around 6.20am. The busy street was closed off by police for nearly two hours as emergency services response scrambled to the scene.

It has since been confirmed that three people were rescued from the property by firefighters and taken to hospital for treatment. One further casualty was assessed by North West Ambulance Service.Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one triple extension ladder, a gas monitor and tactical ventilation to extinguish the fire. They remained at the scene for three hours and 20 minutes and the road has since reopened.

In a statement this morning, Lancashire Police said: "Police are assisting our colleagues from the fire brigade with an incident on Grane Road in Haslingden. Please be advised that the road is closed between St Crispin Way and the Holden Arms Public House and plan your route accordingly. Many thanks."

A fire service spokesperson said: "Three fire engines from Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Ramsbottom fire stations attended a domestic property fire on Grane Road in Haslingden, Rossendale. Firefighters rescued three people from the property who were then taken to hospital. "One further casualty was assessed by North West Ambulance Service. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, one triple extension ladder, a gas monitor and tactical ventilation to extinguish the fire, and were in attendance for 3 hours and 20 minutes."
