Guide to sport on television (Monday–Sunday, May 8th–14th)
Two huge nights in European club football this week, with Real Madrid hosting Manchester City in the first Champions League semi-final on Tuesday evening, and the Milan derby scheduled for the following day. Whichever team emerges after the two legs involving reigning champions Real Madrid and in-form Man City will surely be favourites to go on and lift the cup, but there is a lot on the line in the other semi-final.
An annual international nine-ball tournament, the 2023 edition of one of the most prestigious events in professional pool will be held at Brentwood Centre in Essex, England from Wednesday to Saturday. The organisers of the invitational competition regularly tinker with the format and number of players, and this season will see 16 players compete – the top 14 from the Nineball World Rankings, plus two wild cards. The winner on Saturday will get a cheque for $40,000 .
