London has a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms
Strong winds are hitting parts of south east England - with a storm warning in place until 18:00 GMT on Sunday
"A band of thunderstorms will move quickly eastwards" until early Sunday evening, possibly causing "localised disruption",Saturday marked the warmest New Year's Day on record, reaching 16.3C in London's St James's Park.
