The New York-metro area is under a heat advisory for the seventh consecutive day, but thunderstorms and flash flooding are also possible throughout the afternoon.

Thunderstorms and flash flooding are also possible throughout the afternoon and evening Monday, the National Weather Service said, and could bring damaging wind gusts and up to a half an inch of rain. A slow moving cold front will bring an end to the heat and humidity of the past few days. The front will bring scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms Monday into Monday evening, some of which could be strong to severe, and/or produce heavy rainfall.
