Rovers saw off Shelbourne in their semi-final, winning 2-1 at Tolka Park, while Galway needed penalties to get past Wexford in their last-four encounter.Both sides’ participation in the final means the postponement of their SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division games, which will be rescheduled at a later date.
Rovers were due to face DLR Waves on August 17, while Galway were down to travel to Cork City on the same day. Meanwhile, the League of Ireland has confirmed that the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division fixture between St. Patrick’s Athletic and Sligo Rovers has been rescheduled. The match was originally due to be played on Friday, August 2, but will now be played on Sunday August 4 at 6pm.
