Taoiseach says it is time for the UK to comprise in Brexit negotiations

"I think we have made a lot of compromises already and what is not evident is what the UK government is offering to the European Union and Ireland should they wish us to make any further compromises," he told reporters in Dublin.

"We were and remain happy to apply the backstop only to Northern Ireland if they want to go back to that. It doesn't have to trap, or keep, all of Great Britain in the customs territory at all."Britain’s foreign minister warned that future generations will blame the EU if it fails to come to an agreement at this point in the Brexit negotiations.

"That's what the UK has said we want to do, it's what most people in the UK want and feel very strongly about. "That's not an unreasonable thing to ask and we have made, I think, some progress in the last few days. There's a bit more to make. It's entirely possible to get there.
