Cara received her result on her very first day of secondary school, making it an extra memorable milestone, and her father says the entire family is incredibly proud
Tipperary school girl Cara Darmody has many incredible feats under her belt already, being an incredible advocate for autism awareness and autism services.
Cara is passionate about the cause of Autism, as her two brothers John and Neil are non-verbal people with autism. While Ciara herself is not autistic, she is a voice for her little brothers and many others across Ireland. Touching on her nerves in the lead up to receiving her result, Cara said that she felt driven on by her purpose of raising funds and awareness for autism services.
"I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who supported me on this amazing journey as it certainly wasn't easy. Thanks a million to anyone who donated to my fundraiser and for helping all of those children who have been left to rot on HSE waiting lists." Cara's Dad Mark said: "I can't tell you enough how proud Noelle and I are of her. She invented this journey herself and to get 97% in a Leaving Certificate exam at just 12 years old, all to help others, is just an amazing achievement."
