Exclusive: Alison Curtis - who hosts Saturday Breakfast - said her heart went out to Tubs
Alison – who hosts her Saturday radio show, Saturday Breakfast with Alison Curtis – said her heart went out to the station’s former highest paid presenter when he was told he would not be returning to his morning radio show on RTE Radio 1.
She said: "From the point of view… I really identified how much the radio and your show becomes part of your identity. I really let it become a massive part of my identity and also as someone who loves it so much.. like in radio – it is a little Groundhog Day – but you have to still find that love for it and I do still have that love for it.
"But with me, I am executive producer as well as presenter, so it is literally my name on the tin. It’s my ideas and my presentation so if it doesn’t go well, there is no one else to blame."It’s in the Top 20 in Ireland consistently. It’s literally Ian, Dave Moore and myself are the three biggest shows on the station, across Newstalk and 98FM.
The campaign has raised over €3.5m to date. This year Alison Curtis was joined by Katie Whitty from Wexford, to launch the ‘Monst-a-matic Trick or Treat’ Vending Machine - a vending machine with a twist! Popping up in Dundrum Town Centre on Thursday, 5 October, the ‘Monst-a-matic Trick or Treat’ Vending Machine will come alive to surprise and delight with tricks & treats, while giving people an opportunity to sign up for a party pack.
