Tom Brady grew up in San Mateo as a 49ers fan but never got the chance to play for them.
SANTA CLARA — Assuming he means it this time, Tom Brady ended his NFL career Wednesday having never played for the team of his youth.
If Brady stays remains on the sidelines and starts a career as a TV analyst — he announced his retirement a year ago only to change his mind — he is not an option for the 49ers this season.Wednesday, they weren’t likely to be suitors anyway and plan on going into the season with Purdy and Trey Lance at the top of the depth chart without designating either a starter.
“I’m always humbled by the fact that we work for an organization that touts some guys that fit into that category with Ronnie , Steve , Joe and Jerry , but that’s rarified air,” Lynch said. “I got to compete against him as a player, I got to broadcast games as a broadcaster and to see that he was still going blows my mind. What he’s done is unparalleled.”
“Any time you’re up a lot, you go back to any scars you have. I do the math a lot,” Shanahan said. “I definitely didn’t feel good with Brady.” “Man the worst thing he could tell me is no.
