'Infuriated' Tom Cruise 'lawyered up' after clashing with Paramount studios over plan for Mission Impossible 7's theatrical release
Tom Cruise has lawyered up amid his ongoing battle with Paramount Pictures. The star, who also produces the films, objected to Paramount's plan for a 45-day theatrical window before streaming on Paramount+ instead. Cruise supports a traditional three-month theatrical run.
A source said he felt that setting a date when the movie could be viewed on the streaming service would discourage people from going to the theater. The actor and the studio have agreed to hold off on negotiations until M:I 7 is completed. The release date for the latest installment of the blockbuster franchise has already been delayed four times and is currently set to premiere on July 23.
