Tommy Tiernan continues to be linked with The Late Late Show role, which will be left vacant when Ryan Tubridy departs next month
Tommy Tiernan would be open to chatting to RTE chiefs about hosting The Late Late Show but would only accept the role on one condition, according to his podcast co-host.
According to Laurita, Tommy would only agree to take over from Ryan Tubridy if RTE bosses agreed to give him full creative freedom over The Late Late Show.In an interview with Independent.ie, Laurita said: "Tommy has said if he was given The Late Late and told to do whatever he wants with it, he would be happy enough to do it. But I don’t think that is the route of The Late Late Show."
Tommy remains an outside shot, if bookies are to believed, likely due to the fact that RTE would be eager to keep the 53-year-old in situ on his unique Saturday night chat show, in which Tommy doesn't know the identity of his guests before they join him on stage.
