Plain clothes officers staked out the property as the search for the killer of Alan Lawson continues.
Police officers descended on a Scots supermarket today as the hunt for a brutal torture killer continues. Elite officers from the Major Investigation Team headed to the Asda in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, as part of the probe into the murder of Alan Lawson.
The activity centred on a block of flats next to the supermarket. The property sits just off the main road through the town, on the street which leads to the ferry terminal linking the mainland to the Isle of Arran. A source said: "There have been a lot of rumours about where the killer is. The talk was he was in a flat within that building. But after staking it out and going in to search it turned out he wasn't there.
"There were loads of flats around Glasgow Street he could have been in but the rumour was that was the one. The cops are doing everything they can to track him down. They will leave no stone unturned in a bid to catch him. Another sickening snap appeared to show Alan on the floor of a blood-splattered room. Screenshots were taken of the footage he filmed and have been shared widely throughout Ardrossan, Saltcoats and Stevenston, an area known locally as The Three Towns.
