Tottenham are getting closer to completing the signing of Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan, talkSPORT understands.Lenglet looks set for a move to north London for the 2022/23 seasonThe then-23-year-old joined the Spanish giants in a €35million deal, having impressed in La Liga for his former club.
The centre-back has also made 15 caps for France and will be hoping to break back into the national team with regular game time in north London. Lenglet made just seven starts for Barcelona last season, as they finished second in the Spanish top-flight – 13 points behind rivals Real Madrid. He has won one La Liga title during his time in Spain, and he’ll be hoping for a Premier League trophy to add to his trophy cabinet when he joins Spurs.
He would join Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, and Fraser Forster who have all already joined Spurs, with Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence also close to signing.
