Touchdown Atlantic was a blast for fans of the Riders and Argonauts.
The town was filled with football fans, 90 per cent of whom were wearing green and white.
Once inside, they were greeted with numerous food trucks options and booths selling East Coast food. There was even a section set up for kids. There were also booths filled withIt was hot, with the temperature hitting around 30 C. Shade was at premium so Riders and Argonauts fans mingled under some of the few trees.
From my vantage point, those in the temporary stands seemed to have the most fun, despite the heat. They cheered, danced and sang their way through countless songs.It was Toronto’s home game, but it felt like a Riders game at Mosaic Stadium. I can only imagine what it would have been like if the Riders had won.
“Halifax rolled out the carpet for all of Canada and we couldn’t have felt more welcome,” said trumpeter Rhonda Kerr-White, an original member of the pep band.The temporary press facilities had the media among the fringes of the crowd in the West grandstand.Article content
