'We feel lost. Everybody's doing what they can, every business has come together and everyone's just trying to make it work'
Residents and businesses have been left to pick up the pieces after thunderstorms and heavy rain brought flash flooding to Kirkham on Monday .
Hannah Brook and Debbie Parkinson run the Fylde Coast Youth Theatre at Progress Business Park in the town. This area was also hit by the flooding on Monday evening, with many homes and businesses in the park impacted severely. Hannah's grandma lives on Orders Lane which was also severely impacted by the floods. The 83-year-old was holidaying with her sister in Cumbria when the weather event occurred and she had to return early to assess the damage to her home.
Although he wasn't in charge of the pub when the town experienced flooding three years ago in the middle of 2020, he was told that the establishment could be susceptible to water damage and took precautions to save his business. Dylan told LancsLive: "It's hard isn't it? To be honest, I feel more sorry for the other pubs, because they've come off a lot worse than what I have.
