Speaking at a campaign event in Rutherglen, the MSP called a passer-by a “bigot” after they shouted a slur and called him a “deviant”.and said “toxic forces” had caused an increase in attacks on the LGBT+ community.Speaking to the, Harvie said: “The fact is there are some pretty toxic forces in politics at the moment that have unleashed homophobia and transphobia in a way that we haven’t seen in many, many years.
The First Minister also stepped in to defend Harvie on Twitter, saying that any form of abuse was “unacceptable.
