The Action News Jax First Alert Weather Team is continuing to track several tropical systems, including a tropical wave that is headed toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Here’s what we can expect from these systems, according to Action News Jax First Alert Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh:

Tropical Depression 9 forms over central Caribbean Sea. Will move west-northwest across the Caribbean with gradual development. Forecast to be over the Gulf of Mexico next week with possible Gulf Coast landfall anywhere from Texas to Florida around Thursday or Friday.Dangerous rip currents at area beaches and rough seas and surf that will peak tomorrow with breakers of 5 to 6 feet or so at our beaches. Otherwise, no impacts from Fiona to our local area.

Gaston remains over the northeast Atlantic with a tropical storm warning for the western Azore Islands. No U.S. impacts expected.
