BREAKING: The body of a teenage boy has been found in a river after a 15-year-old went missing on Friday
Police have confirmed a body has been found in the search for a missing boy who got into difficulty while swimming with friends in a Cumbria river.
Another member of the group is fighting for his life in hospital. Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service explained that four boys had got into trouble in the water but that only three were located.Cumbria Police have now confirmed that a body was found at around 1.30pm today. No formal identification has yet been confirmed, however the family of the missing 15-year-old have been informed.
Chief Superintendent Lisa Hogan, Cumbria Constabulary, said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family of the 15-year-old boy at this difficult time. An extensive search operation has taken place since the incident was reported yesterday evening.
