A tragic Irish dad-of two-was among the 149 passengers on board the Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 that crashed on Sunday morning. who was working with the United Nations World Food Programme .
The aircraft lost contact just six minutes after it took off from Bole International Airport in the African country at 8.44am . Data from a Swedish air tracking website indicated that the plane had an unstable vertical speed after take-off and the pilot had asked to turn back.A Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman said: “The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is aware of the incident, and we stand ready to provide consular assistance if requested.”
