One Preston drag artist is continuing to break down social barriers through her love for the performance while embracing her own identity after coming out at trans.
A year later, the day after her birthday, Cali came out as transgender to her parents, who she says, were initially shocked. She continued: "My parents were a bit taken aback when I told them, but do really well and now they correct themselves when they say the wrong pronouns." At the time of the interview, Cali's Drag name was 'Queen Calcium', but we are told this is due to change as she looks to move away from that period of her life.
"The doctors don't see it as urgent and the waiting list is about six years. I was really struggling until luckily a friend of a friend had changed their mind about their transition and offered me their hormones. I'm on those now but I was really worried about it because when you're in your 20s, your hair starts to grow much faster and you need to shave your face everyday and your muscles get more defined.
