The message of the film hits differently now that I’m middle-aged: Youth and innocence is fleeting; enjoy them while they last. The bittersweet anthem that Stevie Wonder co-wrote and performed for the flick now cuts me to the core“Life is but a twinkling of an eye, yet filled with sorrow and compassion. Though not imagined, all things that happen, will age to old ... though gold.”I was just discussing this truth with my girlfriend Jackie recently.
