The England international wants to remain at Anfield and the Reds are keen to tie him down to a long-term deal given his status as one of the club’s star players.
But a deal is not done yet, and there is believed to be no announcement imminent, with the club still having some work to do to ensure the right-back’s long-term future remains on Merseyside.Alexander-Arnold has been one of the outstanding players at Liverpool ever since breaking into the side in his teens and he was promoted to vice-captain last season following the departures of Jordan Henderson and James Milner.
Alexander-Arnold continued that form when he scored the second goal for England in their 3-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina on 3 June as he looks to show Gareth Southgate why he can be a key figure for his side at this summer’s European Championships.
