BBC journalist Nick Sheridan, who also worked in RTE on News2Day, sadly passed away at the age of only 32 - the tributes have been flooding in for the 'kind and open-hearted' man
Tributes have been flooding in over the last day after the news emerged that former RTE journalist Nick Sheridan had passed away.The BBC Scotland communications team announced his passing on social media with a tribute by the head of news and current affairs at BBC Scotland, Gary Smith.It read: "We're devastated to hear the news our colleague and friend Nick Sheridan, has died. Nick has been a wonderful colleague.
RTE's News2Day also posted a tribute, writing: "A sad day for all of us in the news2day family. Nick Sheridan was a joy to work with, so creative and hardworking but also with a sense of fun and mischief which would brighten your day. He was kind, open-hearted and always curious, a really wonderful person."
"All of us at Gill are very sorry to hear of the death of Nick Sheridan, who has passed away after a short illness. Nick was co-author with Keith Barry of Mind Magic on our children’s list, and was a creative, clever and good-humoured collaborator who was a pleasure to work with," wrote the Gill Books account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
His literary agent Lydia Silver wrote: "I’m devastated by the news that my client Nick Sheridan died yesterday. Nick was a brilliant author who loved writing for children, and a great friend. He lit up every room he walked into and was a joy to be around. My thoughts are with everyone who loved him."
