Tributes have poured in for a ‘charming, funny and kind’ young Irish man who tragically passed away in London recently. Kildare man Paul Martin Mac Hugh died suddenly at Barnet Hospital, London on August 29.
It is understood the 29-year-old Athy native had been living in the UK for some time. ahead of his funeral later this week Paul will be lovingly remembered by his adoring mother, sisters and brother as well as his beloved grandparents and many extended family and his huge circle of friends.READ MORE: Irish chef gunned down outside his US restaurant had spoken about his granny igniting cooking passion The young man will repose at Thompson's Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mt Hawkins, Athy on Thursday, September 12 from 5pm until the concluding of prayers at 7pm. Removal will take place the following morning from 94 Clonmullion at 10:40am, arriving at St. Michael's Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in St. Michael's Cemetery, Athy. Tributes have poured in far and wide from friends and colleagues for the ‘charming, funny and kind’ young Irishman following his sudden passing.“I was privileged to teach all your family Mrs Machugh and I also was very privileged to work with Paul who was outstanding and very professional funny witty and so supportive and friendly. May he rest in peace and please know we all will think of Paul always.” Another penned: “Paul was one of the kindest, most patient and funny people I have ever worked with. He was a great storyteller and had so many funny loving tales of his family. He loved you all, was loved by you all and so many others.” A third said: “We are so sorry for your loss. Paul was charming, very funny and so kind. I remember him as a student all through St James’ and then he was a colleague. He got on especially well with Martin and Cliff and they had many a laugh.” While a fourth added: “Paul was such a kind and helpful colleague in the time we worked together in St James'. “His great sense of humour will be remembered and missed by many people. It is heartbreaking to lose him so young.
