Tributes paid to ‘beautiful’ Irish girl, 11, who died in Majorca balcony fall

Clodagh Phelan from Co. Wicklow fell 65ft from a seventh floor balcony at about 6.30am yesterday morning while her family slept. Her family had been due to fly home later that day

Tributes have been paid to the “beautiful, spirited" 11-year-old girl who died after falling from a balcony while on holiday in Majorca, Spain.

Paramedics and other emergency responders reportedly tried to revive the girl but she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was expected to take place yesterday. Clodagh's athletics club Parnell AC said: "Parnell A.C. are truly heartbroken to share the devastating news of the passing of Clodagh Phelan, one of our juvenile athletes and friend to many of our younger athletes.
