Tributes have been paid to a former member of An Garda Siochana who was killed in a collision in Co Limerick at the weekend.
Mr Reidy previously served as a member of An Garda Síochána and was a well-known figure around his native Abbeyfeale, with Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin describing him as "one of nature’s gentlemen". Independent Kerry TD Michael Healy-Rae, a family friend, also paid tribute to Mr Reidy in a statement which read: "Deepest sympathy to all the Reidy and extended families. I’m very sorry for your great loss at this sad time. May the late Johnny rest in peace.""My sincere sympathy to Johnny’s wife and children and all the Reidy family on this very sad loss. Heaven needed another angel. Rest in peace Johnny. You were a true gentleman always," said one mourner.
