Tributes paid to Irish student tragically killed after hit and run in Netherlands
Tributes have been paid to a young Irish student who was tragically killed in a hit and run in the Netherlands last weekend.Local reports say the Cork native was found on the road by a passerby and died before the ambulance arrived.
Ms O'Connell, from Ballintemple, was a student in UCC but had been on Erasmus for the year in HU University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht.A close friend and classmate of Aoife's in Utrecht, Amelie Brun, said she was a kind and popular person who will be sorely missed."Aoife was a kind, happy and really funny person."We had so much fun in Utrecht together.
