Darragh McCarthy sadly passed away in hospital five days after a fall from an upper storey of a student apartment complex
Tributes are being paid to a young student who died in hospital after falling from an upper storey of an apartment complex in Cork city.
He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where his condition was described as critical. He passed away on Tuesday, March 11. Locals described him as a talented hurler who helped his club Midleton win their first Cork County Under 21A County hurling title in 11 years last year, defeating St Finbarr’s in the final. He was a student at the Munster Technological University in Cork City.
Darragh is survived by his parents Niall and Aoife, sister Aisling, brother Niall Óg and girlfriend Sophie McCarthy Keane. He will repose in O’Farrell’s Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton, P25 X382, on Friday 14 March, from 4pm to 7pm.
