Tributes have been paid to a well-known horse breeder who died in a crash in County Roscommon on Monday.
Paying tribute, local Fianna Fáil councillor Sean Moylan said: ‘’In light of all the tragedies that have happened on the roads in the West of Ireland, this is very sad. Tom was a very well-known man in this area. He was a good horsey man and as far as I know he was on his way to the races when this accident occurred.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred at Ardcarne, Boyle, Co. Roscommon on Monday 30th September 2024. At approximately 1.20pm Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving a car and a jeep on the N4 at Ardcarne.
