Tributes have poured in from far and wide for a ‘kind, decent and wonderful’ mother who passed away after being reported missing on St Stephen’s Day. Gardaí launched a search appeal for 49-year-old Sheila King on St Stephen’s Day after she was reported missing from her home in Raheny, Dublin. Following the discovery of a body in North Dublin on Saturday, Gardaí stood the missing person appeal down.

Sheila will be dearly missed by her adoring husband Kieran, loving children Conor and Aisling and her mother Mary, alongside her many extended family and huge circle of beloved friends. Sheila will repose at her residence on Thursday January 2 from 5-7pm. Her funeral mass will take place in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Artane on Friday January 3 at 10am, followed by burial in Balgriffin cemetery. Tributes have poured in far and wide for Sheila, who has been described as a “bright lovely” person who was a “wonderful innovator and leader”. “To Kieran, Conor and Aisling , the wider King and McSweeney families, especially Mary , Denise and Helen,” one mourner wrote. “I was so sorry to hear of Sheila’s passing . When I used to meet Sheila it was usually at McSweeney family events in Macroom. “She was always full of chat and fun, and always interested in other people with Sheila typically handing out great life advice! She was a bright lovely person and I am so sorry for your loss. May she rest in peace.” A former work colleague penned: “Sincere condolences to Kieran, Conor, Aisling and all the McSweeney family, especially Mary. “I knew and worked with Sheila on the ward and in the Endoscopy Unit in Beaumont, and in the Bons. She was the most wonderful person, kind, decent, principled, and a wonderful innovator and leader. “She made huge professional contribution
