Semina Halliwell claimed she was raped by an older boy who she said had groomed her over Snapchat
An MP has paid tributes to a tragic schoolgirl who he says was "let down by the system" and called for "further measures" to protect children in the area.
Her mum Rachel claims the year seven pupil at Stanley High School in Southport took her own life after an interview with police. Semina claimed she was raped by an older boy who she said had groomed her over Snapchat.Addressing the House of Commons, Mr Moore said: "Semina Halliwell a 12-year-old girl in my constituency suffered an horrific ordeal, she tragically then went on to take her own life, she was let down by the system. This week is the two-year anniversary of her death.
A pre-inquest hearing into Semina's death was held on Friday, February 3, and her mum Rachel previously explained how she is now waiting until another hearing in July, the ECHO reports.
