'True gem' Moor Hall restaurant crowned best in country in top awards

A top West Lancashire restaurant has been crowned the best in the country in a prestigious awards list.

The nationally acclaimed cook came to the prestigious venue in 2016 after almost a decade of success at Simon Rogan's now-triple Michelin-Starred L'Enclume in Cartmel, Cumbria which has also been named in the prestigious list. The luxurious Moor Hall Restaurant is situated in five acres of gardens with views to the south over a lake, believed to be the remains of a mediaeval moat.

“An evening meal starts at the bar with a charcuterie selection before moving to the high-ceilinged room for the main event. It’s impressive stuff from a chef at the top of his game, one that marks Moor Hall out as a true Lancashire gem.” Moor Hall is one of three Lancashire venues to bag places on the acclaimed top 100 list. The award winning Parkers Arms in Newton with Bowland came in at number 44, while the luxurious Northcote in the Ribble Valley has notched up a place in the top 100 at number 96. Meanwhile, Cumbrian eateries have also featured, with the Old Stamp House in Ambleside achieving number 87 in the top 100, while L’Enclume in Cartmel was listed at number 10.
