The idea for the Cork-based software firm grew out of founder Conor Lyden’s experience of paying for tickets to matches first before getting them
Trustap, a Cork-based software company, is aiming to grow in Asia over the next year and expand into Africa and South America over the next two or three years.
“Initially it was a selfish expedition to solve my own problem. I was travelling over and back to watch Liverpool football games in England. I was always trying to find a ticket on Facebook or Done Deal,” Lyden told the Business Post. “We partner with existing marketplaces around the world. Anywhere there’s a website where people buy and sell stuff, we provide a way for those marketplaces to offer this as a means to aid online transactions,” Lyden said.
“It started with the local enterprise office. I got every grant I could along the way. Enterprise Ireland were investors in our first round and very helpful when we wanted to move to international markets,” Lyden said.
