There's nothing wrong with turning the lights off butI understand that many people worry about what their body looks like or feel embarrassed about it during sex. Let's be honest here; we're sweating, we're grunting and there's a lot of other things involved that may not appear sexy .'Turning the lights on' is a mindset – and it doesn't even need to happen during sex with someone else.
‘Feeling self-conscious’ was listed as one of the biggest factors, alongside not being comfortable or even trying to save money on electricity bills.
It has messed with my head and prevented me from reaching ‘the big O’ because I’m just too in my own head and analysing the scene. But despite those occasional confidence issues, which have lessened drastically as I’ve got older and accepted that everyone has body hang-ups, I’ve always been a ‘lights on’ kind of woman.
It’s partially because I’m stubborn and don’t want to give in to my negative thinking.
