BBC comedy Mrs Brown's Boys caused controversy at last night's National Television Awards as actor Kiell Smith-Bynoe was caught fuming on live TV
National Television Award nominees didn't hold back their thoughts on Mrs Brown's Boys scooping up the best comedy award.
Mrs Brown's Boys star and creator Brendan O'Carroll headed on stage to collect the award with his cast members, while Ghosts star Kiell appeared visibly unpleased. Just three weeks ago, the Taskmaster star urged fans to vote for Ghosts to win a NTA. Kiell stars in the series, which was created by the cast of hit CBBC series Horrible Histories.
Someone else commented: "That #ghosts actors face just when he didn't win the award!" A fourth wrote: "Omg the face on that guy!" Mrs Brown's Boys has divided TV fans, with many eager for the next episodes while others are left desperately reaching for the remote. Before the shows even aired, the actor decided to hit back at haters. He told the Daily Star : "First of all, I’m well aware that comedy is very subjective. What some people like, other people just detest. So I don’t take it too serious." Yet, it didn't stop many viewers blasting the series online.
